The food market was established in September 2009 by four passionate KZN ambassadors: Nick Papadopoulos (ex Eat Greek Restaurant on Broadway) and his long standing business partner of 18 years and Executive Chef, Eric Edwards along with Emma Dunk (PR whiz from EM-Between Communications) and Karen Brokensha (passionate Hospitality Consultant from Matatu Hospitality).
Together they aim to highlight and uncover the many hidden jewels within the food industry to the people of Durban and all who visit us – showcasing the skills, variety and selection of produce/food and products that are being produced and exist right here on our door step.
The food market has received rave reviews from local celebs & food fundi’s and has been blown away by the incredible community support – with an average of 3000 foodies visiting each monthly market.
