About Us

The original food market was established in September 2009 by four wildly passionate KZN ambassadors – Nick Papadopoulos and Eric Edwards (food guru’s & owners of Eat Greek Catering)  along with Emma Dunk (PR whizz from EM-Between Communications) and Karen Brokensha (expert Marketing Consultant from Matatu Hospitality Marketing).
Together they endeavored to find and promote the many undiscovered and homegrown producers of produce, food and drinks in KZN by hosting a monthly food market and various quarterly hospitality events.
One short year down the line they have a discerning and dedicated following of approximately 2500 foodies and have received rave reviews and accolades from industry personalities & associations. The food market will strive to find the passionate and proud producers and bring them to a place where you can support them and enjoy the fruit of their labour!
